“Come on, son!”
I’ll be at the United Center tonight watching the Bulls take on the Milwaukee Bucks. I googled image search “bulls vs bucks” and this picture was the first result. It’s hilarious, but it’s too bad both Deng and Bogut will be out tonight with injuries. Go Bulls!
So, a few years back I released a very solid and under appreciated 7” by this band from San Francisco called the Botticellis. Anyways, three of the members have a new collective music project called Yuba Diamond and it also features Jeremy Black of Apollo Sunshine. Their first single and video is absolutely fantastic and I think you should check it out. You can watch a HD version of the video at this website as well. You can thank me later after you fall in love with this song.
Song of the day: Lightships - Two Lines
Holy shit. I can’t stop listening to this track!
I started reading a new book tonight.
CNN has a great article on the creative struggle of Brian Wilson. I highly recommend reading the article and viewing the video. Click here.
Here’s my favorite quote from the article: “You can try to put Brian Wilson in a box. But he won’t stay there. Creativity is too complex for that. It’s all of a piece with him, angelic voices chasing innocence while going through hell.”
If you want to learn more about Brian Wilson and what he’s been through, you should really read the book, Catch a Wave: The Rise, Fall, and Redemption of the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson. He is a very fascinating man and simply a musical genius.
