I have always been a big advocate of anything my buddy, James Leste, has done musically. We met many years ago when I convinced his old band to fly to Chicago and tour with a band that was on my old record label. We’ve been buds ever since and he consistently writes great tunes that will unfortunately go unnoticed for the most part. If I ever decide to put records out again, he would be the first person I call to work with.
I decided to buy a ticket for the only good day—Saturday—of this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival. There are plenty of bands I wouldn’t mind seeing the other two days but I have already seen most of the bands I care about. I’m looking forward to seeing Grimes, Cloud Nothings, Danny Brown, Hot Chip, Cults, Atlas Sound, Lotus Plaza, Wild Flag, Youth Lagoon, Sleigh Bells and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
